🎉 Exciting News: Marta Monguió‑Tortajada Awarded the 2026 ECCO Grant!

We are delighted to announce that our postdoctoral researcher Dr. Marta Monguió‑Tortajada has been awarded the prestigious ECCO Grant 2026, presented during the ECCO Congress 2026 in Stockholm. This recognition highlights Marta’s innovative research trajectory and her will to advance our understanding of inflammatory bowel disease (IBD).

With this grant, Marta will investigate the role of the SLC15A4/TASL signalling axis in the development and progression of Inflammatory Bowel Diseases (IBD), leveraging in vitro and in vivo models of disease.

We are also very excited to begin a collaboration with Dr. Azucena Salas’ group in Barcelona (Hospital Clínic – IDIBAPS). This partnership will allow the project to integrate studies on clinical samples, enhancing the translational dimension and bringing us closer to understanding how these pathways operate in patients.

This award marks an important milestone for our lab, and we are super excited to launch this ambitious project. A huge congratulations to Marta for this well‑deserved achievement — we can’t wait to see where this research leads!
